Apple Might Not Launch Any New iOS Products Until Fall
With a new iPhone, a new iPad, and the debut of the iPad mini, Apple pretty much refreshed its whole mobile iOS product lineup last fall. While that normally might have us thinking that we’d have another full year to wait before getting word of new products, Apple had already exhibited signs of wanting to speed up device cycles, dropping two brand new iPads just a matter of months apart.
With summer just around the corner, we’ve wondered if an Apple product launch could be sneaking up on us, but now we’re thinking that maybe Apple could wait until fall, after all, after hearing what Tim Cook had to say about the company’s future devices.
“we have some really great stuff coming in the fall and all across 2014.” Cook said we could expect new “hardware, software, and services,” but didn’t get into specifics of any individual products.
That certainly sounds like Apple might not be introducing its next-generation iOS line up for at least several more months. To be fair, there hasn’t really been any hard evidence suggesting that it was hoping to introduce anything sooner, so perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised. Maybe Apple’s rush to replace the iPad 3 with the iPad 4 really was a one-time fluke.
